1,122,519. Mixing flowing fluids; spray producers. I. KARCHER [trading as ALFRED KARCHER]. 28 Oct., 1966 [30 Oct., 1965], No. 48417/66. Headings B1C and B2F. A liquid is supplied from a container open to atmospheric pressure by a metering pump to a mixing point in a conduit carrying superheated water, the mixture being supplied to a spraying apparatus. In Fig. 1 liquids A, B, are supplied by pumps 12, 22 through non-return valves 14d, 14g, to a mixing point 14 to which superheated water is also supplied through a non-return valve 14a, the mixture passing to a spray head 16a, An electrical control circuit (Fig. 2, not shown) is arranged so that only one of the liquids A, B can be supplied to the mixing point at one time, operation of the push-button associated with one of the liquids stopping supply of the other, and a delayaction relay ensuring a time lag before pumping of the one liquid begins so that there can be no overlap. A similar arrangement for supplying two spray heads is depicted in Fig. 4 (not shown). In another arrangement (Fig. 3, not shown) a mixture selected from four liquids C, D, E, F can be sprayed; the apparatus may be provided with two spray nozzles and means for operating the superheated water and additive supply pumps at full or half speed according to whether one or two spray nozzles are in use.
|
