The planetary gear train of an automatic transmission for a vehicle includes a first shaft which is transmitted with power from an engine; a second shaft which is arranged in parallel with the first shaft; a first planetary gear set which has a first sun gear arranged on the first shaft and selectively operated as an output element and an fixed element, a first planetary carrier selectively operated as the output element, and a first ring gear directly connected to the first shaft and constantly operated as an input element; a second planetary gear set which has a second sun gear arranged on the second shaft and is connected to the first planetary carrier, a second planetary carrier operated as the revolution element, and a second ring gear directly connected to the first planetary carrier and the first ring gear with a circumscription gear; a third planetary gear set which has a third sun gear arranged on the second shaft and is directly connected to the first planetary carrier, a third planetary carrier selectively connected to the second planetary carrier and simultaneously and directly connect to the output gear, and a third ring gear selectively connected to the first sun gear with a circumscription gear; three transfer gears which form the circumscription gear; and five friction elements which selectively connects rotation elements of first, second and third planetary gears with each other or selectively connects to a transmission housing.
