PURPOSE: A refractory for steel is provided to enhance productivity of steel facility and to enhance service life of the refractory for steel by adding amorphous metal ribbon to unfired refractory or indeterminate form refractory. CONSTITUTION: A refractory for steel comprises 2-10 parts by weight of amorphous metal ribbon based on 100 parts by weight of unfired refractory or indeterminate form refractory. The amorphous metal ribbon has a thickness of 0.1-0.5mm, a width of 0.5-5mm, and a length of 5-30mm. The unfired refractory includes 2-5 parts by weight of binder based on 100 parts by weight of the refractory composition. The refractory composition includes 80-90 wt% of refractory material and 10-20 wt% of flaky graphite. The refractory composition comprises alumina, magnesia, spinel, and zirconia. The indeterminate form refractory includes 2-5 pars by weight of the binder and 5-10 parts by weight of water based on 100 parts by weight of the refractory raw material. The refractory raw material of the indeterminate form refractory comprises alumina, magnesia, spinel, and silica. |
