The present invention relates to a system and method for providing additional information to a mobile communication terminal during call attempts, including: a mobile communication terminal receiving additional information from an additional information providing server set for an incoming call phone number before performing a call connection procedure upon the occurrence of a call request signal and displaying the received additional information on a display unit; and the additional information providing server transmitting the additional information to the mobile communication terminal. According to the present invention, a system and method can be provided which can provide various types of additional information through the mobile communication terminal before performing a call connection procedure when a mobile communication terminal - especially an outgoing terminal - attempts a call.
