Provided is an electric construction machine in which current can be prevented from reaching, via a point at which power-transmission systems are joined to each other, a connector to which an external power supply is not connected. Said power-transmission systems (71A, 71B, 71C) are connected to connectors (59A, 59B, 59C) and are connected, downstream of a common system (73) where the power-transmission systems (71A, 71B, 71C) are joined to each other, to a control device (35) that has battery-charging functionality. The power-transmission systems (71A, 71B, 71C) are provided with switches (74Aa, 74Ab, 74Ba, 74Bb, 74Ca, 74Cb). In relay circuits (75A, 75B, 75C), if a plug for an external power supply is connected to one of the connectors (59A, 59B, 59C), a coil in a control relay (one of 76A, 76B, and 76C) that responds to the connection of connector-side and plug-side connection-detection terminals is energized, the contacts of said control relay move to a closed position, a coil in the corresponding switch is energized via said contacts, and the contacts of said switch move to a closed position. |
