PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting lithium titanate (lithium titanate spinel) of an undoped and doped pure phase.SOLUTION: A doped and undoped lithium titanate LiTiOobtained by sinter thermal reaction at 850°C or lower, preferably at 750°C of a complex oxide containing LiTiOwith a cubic phase obtained by reacting a solution of LiOH and a solid TiOat 100 to 250°C for 10 to 30 hours and an anatase modified TiO, and having a molar ratio of TiOto LiTiOof 1.3 to 1.85, a method of producing the complex oxide, a method of producing lithium titanate LiTiO, and a positive electrode material of a lithium ion battery of lithium titanate LiTiOare provided.
