PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable welding with a low crack occurrence rate.SOLUTION: A hermetically sealed secondary battery includes: a case for housing a pair of electrodes and electrolyte; a cap body made of metallic material for capping the case; and two terminals made of metallic material, inserted into a hole provided on the cap body, connected to the pair of respective electrodes, and having a different thermal diffusivity from the cap body. A method for molding the hermetically sealed secondary battery includes: squashing tip end sides of the terminals to expand the same along the cap body; and continuously welding along a borderline of the surrounding of the tip end sides of the terminals and the cap body and also alternately passing through the terminal side and the cap body side by taking the borderline as a reference. Further, when the welding has an amplitude of W, a period of the wave-like form of L and a welding width of B, the period satisfies a relationship B/2<W<L/2&pgr; and also at least a part of a track of the welding has a wave-like track from the terminal side to the cap body side. |
