<p>The method involves detecting whether side surfaces (12, 14) of a parallelogram shaped board (4) are offset relative to each other in a rolling direction (6) during discharging the board from a rolling stand (2). Guide elements (16, 18) are asymmetrically adjusted relative to a middle line (M) after centering during a rolling pass when the side surfaces are offset relative to each other. One of the guide elements (18) for one of the side surfaces (14), which enters into the stand as first during the rolling pass, is displaced from the middle line as the other guide element.
