The switching cabinet crane (10) has two supports (11,12), which cooperate for supporting a lifting unit (13,14,15). The supports are provided with a fastening device, through which the supports are fastened to a switching cabinet (1). The support is protruded in front of a device mounting opening (2) by a predetermined dimension over the cabinet, so that the lifting unit is supported in front of the device mounting opening at the supports. The fastening device is an opening for receiving a fastening element, which is fastened in a fastening element opening of the cabinet. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a device on a switching cabinet.
