A ternary eutectic alloy known by the name of Darcet alloy comprises, in proportions by weight: - Pb: 0À32; Bi: 0À155 and Sn: 0À525. The alloy has a melting point of 96‹ C. and may be used as a low melting point solder to seal an end cap over a valve which forms part of the cooling arrangement for an electron discharge tube.
