摘要	<p>The printing apparatus (12) has a printing head (16) that is located on an article or container outer surface (14) during a printing operation in a defined position relative to a printing area (18). A suction device (22) is coupled for exhausting sprayed or spattered ink. The suction device is spatially and functionally associated with the printing head. The suction device is arranged in close proximity to the outlet openings in the printing head for the printing ink. The suction device is combined or integrated in a structural unit with the printing head. An independent claim is also included for a method for exhausting sprayed or spattered ink in the immediate vicinity of the outlet openings for printing ink of a print head.</p>
