PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate substrate for press molding exhibiting an excellent formability in press molding and yielding a molding provided simultaneously with reliability of mechanical properties and reinforcing effects, and a molding obtained from the same.SOLUTION: Provided is an intermediate substrate for press molding comprising randomly distributed discontinuous reinforcing fibers dispersed as monofilaments in a thermoplastic resin, wherein a sheet-shaped fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin component (I) having a reinforcing fiber ratio VfI of 15 vol.% or above and 40 vol.% or below and a sheet-shaped fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin component (II) having a reinforcing fiber ratio VfII of 5 vol.% or above and below 15 vol.% are mutually laminated, wherein the ratio of the component (II) with respect to the combined sum of the components (I) and (II) in the intermediate substrate is 30-70 vol.%, and wherein aspect ratios of the respective reinforcing fibers of the components (I) and (II) are 250 or above and 1,000 or below, and the VfI and VfII satisfy 0.8VfI>VfII. |
