METHOD AND SYSTEM TO MITIGATE RISKS OF NON-TRANSMISSION OF MEDICAL DATA IN UBIQUITOUS HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT

A method and a system for providing seamless transmission of medical data from a sensor source to a medical facility through a gateway are provided. The method proposes a primary gateway to select a substitute backup gateway to achieve seamless transmission of medical data in case of partial interruption of the primary gateway. The substitute backup gateway is a predetermined device which belongs to the generally same user who wears or possesses the sensor. An 'on-the-fly' gateway can be selected when the predetermined gateway is not available or cannot play a role as a gateway. The proposed method uses an encryption protocol (zero knowledge proof protocol) such as direct and anonymous authentication by a computing group which is reliable for authenticating a newly identified gateway.
