PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module which facilitates optical coupling between an optical coupling member and a photoelectric conversion element and which can be easily manufactured.SOLUTION: An optical communication module 1 comprises a columnar optical coupling member 10 where a photoelectric conversion element 200 is mounted, and a coupling member mounting part 40 where the optical coupling member 10 is mounted. The optical coupling member 10 comprises a pair of electrode patterns 20 including: a pair of mounting surface-side conductive patterns 21 formed to be connected to respective electrodes 210 of the photoelectric conversion element 200; and a pair of side extended conductive patterns 22 continued from the respective mounting surface-side conductive patterns 21 and formed on a side outer circumferential surface 12 of the optical coupling member 10. The coupling member mounting part 40 comprises: a recess 41 for fitting an optical coupling member end, which is formed to allow an end 10d of the optical coupling member to be fitted; and a pair of mounting side electric connecting parts 50 to be electrically connected to the respective side extended conductive patterns 22 when the optical coupling member 10 is fitted in the recess 41 for fitting an optical coupling member end.
