PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus that is easily assembled to a vehicle body by preventing excessive rotation of a lower bracket in a state before being assembled to the vehicle body and has high support rigidity with respect to a steering column after being assembled to the vehicle body.SOLUTION: An engagement portion of a housing with a tilt pivot shaft is provided behind a rotation axis of an electric motor, a projected portion projecting forward from a front side end of at least one of side plates of a lower bracket is formed in the side plate, a pair of protrusions opposing each other in a vertical direction with the projected portion interposed therebetween and respectively projecting more outward in a vehicle width direction than the projected portion is formed in the housing, and the projected portion and the pair of protrusions constitute a rotation regulation mechanism for regulating rotation of the lower bracket with respect to a steering column with the tilt pivot shaft used as a rotation center in a state where an electric power steering apparatus has not yet been assembled to a vehicle body to a predetermined range. |
