PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively control the execution of local iteration and global iteration in ID in accordance with the status of convergence of an iterative decoding process.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a receiver includes an LDPC decoder 104, a generation section 107 and a scheduler 108. The LDPC decoder 104 performs an iterative decoding process of repetitively calculating fourth reliability information indicative of a result of estimation of the value of each bit forming a received symbol on the basis of third reliability information corresponding to first extrinsic information. The generation section 107 generates a convergence index for evaluating the status of convergence of the iterative decoding process on the basis of the fourth reliability information. The scheduler 108 performs execution control of local iteration formed by the iterative decoding process and execution control of global iteration formed by alternation between a symbol de-mapping process and the iterative decoding process, on the basis of the convergence index. |
