The method for air ion diagnostics of the patients with gastrointestinal pathology consists in detection of the altered level of oxygen, carbon dioxide and ammonia in the expired air. Furthermore, the level of hydrogen, methane, carbon disulfide, and ethanol is measured prior to and after loading tests. The increase in methane, carbon disulfide, ammonia, and carbon dioxide levels with the decreased oxygen level is indicative of intestinal dysbacteriosis. The increase in ammonia, carbon disulfide, carbon dioxide, and ethanol levels with the decreased oxygen level is indicative of liver pathology. |
