PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and an information processing system capable of preventing leakage of information transmitted and received between a terminal and the information processing apparatus without imposing a burden on a user.SOLUTION: An information processing system comprises: a portable terminal 5 comprising a communication part 31 for performing communication with a multi function peripheral 4, and a data storage part 32 for storing data to be transmitted/received to/from the multi function peripheral 4; and the multi function peripheral 4 comprising a LAN communication part 21 for performing communication with the portable terminal 5, a Bluetooth communication part 41, a connection mode determination part 22 for determining a mode of connection with the portable terminal 5, and a data processing part 23 for processing data to be transmitted/received to/from the portable terminal 5 on the basis of the determined mode of the connection. |
