The contamination reducing device has a surface depositions removing device to remove a build up of surface depositions from interior of heat exchanger unit when the removing unit is activated. The heat exchanger unit is arranged for cooling the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) flow before entering into the intake manifold (4). A combustion engine (6) is fluidly connected with the intake manifold upstream and the exhaust manifold (8) downstream. The EGR circuit (20) is fluidly coupled to exhaust manifold to selectively flow the exhaust gas as EGR flow to intake manifold.
