PURPOSE: A hot water supply system using waste heat and a control method thereof are provided to save energy in the summer by utilizing condensation heat generated from a showcase refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: A hot water supply system comprises a heater(1), a hot water supply tank(3), and a pipe. The hot water supply tank holds hot water generated by the heater. The pipe supplies the hot water through the hot water supply tank. The heater comprises a boiler and a heat pump(10). The heat pump is operated independently or with the boiler, and the heated water is supplied to the hot water supply tank.
