PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory device capable of correcting errors that are included in read data even when the number of errors that are included in the read data is larger than the number of errors that can be corrected.SOLUTION: A semiconductor memory device of an embodiment includes: a memory cell array 10 in which a plurality of memory cells MC are arranged; a sense amplifier 17 that detects data which is output from the memory cell array 10, and amplifies it; and a control unit 13 that controls access to the memory cell array 10 and includes a target address and the setting information of the sense amplifier 17 which corresponds to the target address. If an input address ADD when predetermined data is read from the memory cell array 10 is included in the target address, the control unit 13 reads again data corresponding to the input address ADD by using the setting information of the sense amplifier 17 which corresponds to the target address.
