The separator (14) has an inlet (13) to receive an effluent fluid to be separated into concentrate (16) and steam (18). An adsorption filter device (66) comprises a column of superimposed perforated back-flow plates (70) to separate components adsorbed by water resulting from condensed steam. A cyclonic separation device (54) is arranged upstream of the adsorption filter device to separate suspended effluent particles in the steam. The filter device and the separation device are arranged inside a container (22).
