Compact low-pressure discharge lamp with switching arrangement

The mounting plate (8) fitted into the base of the lamp at right angles to its longitudinal axis carries components of a switching circuit on its underside. It is covered by a cap (3). The ends (31) of current leads (27a,27b) supplying the discharge tube are directed by pegs (24) parallel to the axis at the edge of the cap (3). Connections to the switching circuit are made by wire loops (36) pressed into contact with the ends (31).
