A hinge device for supporting a closure member comprises a support portion 315F attached to a rail portion 315RH. The rail is formed from an elongate element that is at least partially curved, and passes through the closure. The rail may be arcuate and may curve through an angle of at least thirty degrees. The device may comprise a traveller portion with a bearing part that moves with the closure member, sliding along the curve of the rail. The traveller may comprise a pair of plates 315D that are provided on opposite sides of the closure. The hinge device may comprise an adjustment portion that allows the distance between the support and the rail to be changed, enabling the closure to be hung vertically. The adjustment portion comprises first and second interengaging portions provided on the support and the rail respectively. The device may be used as part of a bath or shower unit. |
