The invention relates to a method and system for allocating a resource having a pre-determined value, from a provider unit (4) to a requester unit (1), using a communication network system. According to the invention, the requester unit (1) initially communicates with the selection and control system via the communication network system (2), making a request to the selection and control system, in which the communication is carried out in a local area or public network (3). In turn, provider units (4) are connected in said local area network and linked to the selection and control system using the communication network system (5), submitting an application to the selection and control system. The application is checked by a supervisor unit (6) that controls the communication network system and manages the selection and control system which includes a storage unit (7) and communication means (8) allowing same to coordinate the transactions being carried out between the requester unit (1) and the provider unit(s) (4). The supervisor unit evaluates the conditions that must be fulfilled by the provider units in order to participate in the selection process under which the selection and control system, and specifically the selection unit, establishes the provider unit(s) selected to respond to the requirements of the requester unit.
