Provided are a method for establishing a direct link, and a key updating method and device. The method includes: a requested station receiving a direct link setup request message transmitted by an access point, the direct link setup request message being used for requesting the setup of a direct link between a requesting station and the requested station; the requested station generating first key information, the first key information being used for performing secure transmission on service data which is transmitted over the direct link between the requesting station and the requested station; the requested station transmitting a direct link setup response message to the access point, the direct link setup response message carrying the first key information; and the requested station receiving a first direct link setup confirmation message which is transmitted by the requesting station through the direct link, the first direct link setup confirmation message being used for indicating that the requesting station has received the first key information generated by the requested station. The signalling overhead in the process of setting up a link between a requesting station and a requested station is saved. |
