The apparatus has a temperature sensor for measuring temperature of cooled goods in a cooled inner space. A regulation- or control unit is connected with the temperature sensor. The regulation- or control unit is designed such that the regulation- or control unit makes refrigeration of the inner space in a cooling section for a predetermined duration based on the measured temperature of the goods and/or outputs values during or after a cooling process. The values are correlated with possible duration of storage and/or quality of the goods. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cooling- and/or freezing apparatus.
