PURPOSE: A driving control device of a guide line tracking automated guided vehicle (AGV) using a virtual steering wheel and a method thereof control the driving trace of an AGV by controlling the position of a virtual steering wheel, thereby efficiently controlling the driving. CONSTITUTION: A guide line recognizing unit (110) extracts a guide line in a detection area using a guide line sensor. A virtual steering wheel direction determining unit (120) determines the direction of a virtual steering wheel in the detection area. A real steering wheel direction calculating unit (130) determines a direction angle of a real steering wheel by using the direction of the virtual steering wheel. The guide line is tracked based on the direction angle of the real steering wheel by the control of a steering control unit (140).
