<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for efficient session negotiation in video communication, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for negotiation for a bit-rate suitable for a resolution in IP-based video communication. The method for proposing session negotiation in video communication according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: generating an SDP offer having a negotiation condition consisting of at least one piece of resolution information and at least one piece of bit-rate information corresponding to said at least one piece of resolution information; and transmitting the SDP offer. According to the present invention, the bit-rate information suitable for the image size supported by each video codec is indicated for each image size during an SDP negotiation process, thus enabling the establishment of a session to be quickly performed and the optimization of image quality.</p> |
