Grip rods (20, 30) hold an internal area (40) of the sheet (2). The area is pressed against the wall (44) of the cavity (14) by moving the grip rods. A plunger (10) is then pressed against the sheet in the mold (12) cavity (14). The plunger or mold has a body (18, 28). The grip rods move with respect to it, between extended and retracted positions. The sheet includes orientated reinforcement (4) in the form of fibers impregnated by the plastic. The molding is a structural component for a vehicle. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding mold.
