<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of deriving a direct mode motion vector of a bi-predictive block of a present picture, which uses a co-located block of the position in a bi-predictive picture. <P>SOLUTION: The method for deriving a direct mode motion vector includes: determining a co-located block of the position in a reference picture; selecting a list 0 motion vector of the co-located block as a motion vector for obtaining direct mode motion vectors of a bi-directive block regardless of whether the co-located block has a list 1 motion vector when the co-located block has the list 0 motion vector; and deriving at least one among the direct mode motion vectors of the bi-predictive block by executing bit calculation for the selected list 0 motion vector, wherein the bit calculation performs 8-bit shift in a right direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
