摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method for treating materials and waste containing radioactive cesium scatteredly emitted from an accident of a nuclear power plant because of a large earthquake disaster or the like.SOLUTION: Materials and waste contaminated by radioactive cesium are subjected to high temperature reducing melting furnace treatment by throwing the materials and waste contaminated by radioactive cesium into a high temperature reducing melting furnace 1 which is controlled to be 1150°C or higher, and has a gas composition with Oconcentration being 1.0% or lower and Hgas concentration being 0.6% or higher, or CO gas concentration being 0.6% or higher, or in a reducing gas atmosphere of both of them, and solidifying the radioactive cesium as high temperature reducing melting to be manufactured as minerals of low becquerel, and hard water soluble crystal and non-crystal.
