PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition that can form a superhydrophobic coating film that has a contact angle larger than 140°, desirably larger than 150°, and further desirably larger than 160°.SOLUTION: A composition for coating comprises at least one compound of formula (I): RSi(R)(X), and optionally at least one compound of formula (II): RSi(R)(X). In the formulas, Ris a linear or branched Calkyl group; Ris an aromatic group, such as an optionally substituted carbocyclic and heterocyclic group comprising five-, six- or ten-membered ring systems; Rand Rare each independently a lower alkyl group, such as a linear and branched hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Xand Xare each independently a hydrolyzable group, such as a halogen or an alkoxy group; and n, m are each independently 0 or 1. |
