313,176. Lorenz Akt.-Ges., C. June 9, 1928, [Convention date]. Transmitting systems; fa d i n g , preventing.- Short-wave broadcasting is effected simultaneously on a number of different wave-lengths or by aerials that differ as regards the angle of vertical radiation in such a way that zones of non-reception for one transmission are filled up by zones of good reception for the other transmissions. As indicated in the diagram, one wavelength is well received in the zones I around the transmitting-station S, another in the zones II, and others in the zones III, IV. The wavelengths may be varied according to the time of day, or additional wave-lengths may be used. As each transmitter is only intended to give reception in its optimum zone, only low power is required. |
