APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DESALINATION USING A STREAM OF SEA WATER

The present invention provides a desalination apparatus comprises: a pipe for supplying seawater and discharging water from which ions are removed; electrode parts equipped in both sides of the pipe inside to generate positive and negative voltages; and a magnet part for applying magnetic field in the vertical direction to the stream of the seawater supplied to the pipe. The desalination method comprises the steps of: an electromotive force generation step for supplying the seawater to the pipe having the both electrode parts comprising a closed circuit and the desalination apparatus, and for generating electromotive force by applying magnetic field in the vertical direction to the stream of the seawater; and an ion absorption step for removing the ions from the seawater through the potential difference generated by the electromotive force. The electromotive force generation and ion absorption steps are performed at the same time, therefore, energy consumption can be reduced, maintenance becomes easier, and environmentally-friendly desalination can be possible by not requiring extra chemicals.
