PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can prevent defective transfer even in a state in which an ink ribbon is loosened.SOLUTION: A printer includes: an ink ribbon supplying shaft 21 which retains and supplies a rolled ink ribbon 23, an ink ribbon winding shaft 22 which winds up the used ink ribbon 23, a winding-side motor 27 which drives the ink ribbon winding shaft 22, and a supplying-side motor 24 which drives the ink ribbon supplying shaft 21 in the opposite direction of conveying direction upon supplying of the ink ribbon 23 at the ink ribbon supplying shaft 21. The supplying-side motor 24 drives the ink ribbon supplying shaft 21 in the opposite direction of the conveying direction upon printing of the ink ribbon 23 so as to wind back the ink ribbon 23 to the ink ribbon supplying shaft 21 side at least before starting printing. |
