PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing propylene efficiently by bringing a raw material containing methanol and/or dimethyl ether into contact with a catalyst.SOLUTION: In a method for producing propylene by bringing a raw material containing methanol and/or dimethyl ether into contact with a catalyst, the catalyst contains as an active component, zeolite having a CON type structure in a code specified by International Zeolite Association (IZA). Propylene can be produced efficiently by using zeolite having a specific structure as a catalyst active component.
