PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing generation of flaws by a sheet edge.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: a fixation unit 161 for heating and pressing a recording sheet having a toner image formed thereon by a fixation nip part to fix the toner image on the recording sheet; an oscillation part 180 for oscillating the fixation unit 161 in a direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of the recording sheet; and a control part 200 for controlling the oscillation part 180 to change a movement amount per unit time of the fixation unit 161 in the perpendicular direction in accordance with a prescribed image forming condition. Specifically, the control part 200 controls the movement amount of the fixation unit 161 so as to make it larger when the recording sheet is passing through the fixation nip part than when the recording sheet is not passing through the fixation nip part. Thereby, contact time of an edge part of the recording sheet with a fixation belt is made shorter to prevent generation of flaws by a sheet edge. |
