PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal prism element having an optimum prism design.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal prism element 40 includes a first prism array 45, a second prism array 46, and a liquid crystal layer 47. The second prism array 46 is arranged opposite to the first prism array 45. The liquid crystal layer 47 is formed between the first prism array 45 and the second prism array 46. The first prism array 45 is structured including plural first prisms 43 each of which has a ridgeline extending in a Y-axis direction disposed including predetermined intervals in an X-axis direction. The second prism array 46 is structured including plural second prisms 44 each of which has a ridgeline extending in a Y-axis direction disposed including predetermined intervals in an X-axis direction. The first prism 43 has an inclined plane 81 oriented to the center of the liquid crystal layer 47. The second prism 44 has an inclined plane 84 oriented to the center of the liquid crystal layer 47. |
