592653 Disclosed is a dialysis treatment system capable of operating in a priming mode and a treatment mode to provide better treatment of a patient's blood. The dialysis treatment system comprises a housing defining a cavity, the cavity receives a manifold. The manifold comprises a plastic substrate comprising a first layer and a second layer, a first flow path defined by a first surface of the first layer and a first surface of the second layer, a second flow path defined by a first surface of the first layer and a first surface of the second layer. A valve is in fluid communication with both the first flow path and the second flow path wherein the valve has a first state and a second state and wherein, when in the first state, the first flow path and second flow path are in fluid isolation and when in the second state, the first flow path and second flow path are in fluid communication. A diaphragm is moulded into the manifold and positioned over the valve. A valve interface is physically attached to the housing, wherein the valve interface is configured to apply pressure to, or remove pressure from, the diaphragm to cause the valve to switch between the first state and the second state. The manifold further comprises a first pump outlet, wherein the first pump outlet receives blood being pumped by a first pump, and a second pump outlet, wherein the second pump outlet receives dialysate being pumped by a second pump. The valve is located adjacent the first pump outlet and the second pump outlet. The valve is in the first state, the first pump outlet and second pump outlet are in fluid isolation from each other. |
