The water separator (14) has a discharge line (16) that is arranged at bottom of water reservoir (18). A discharge valve (15) is provided in the discharge line. A standpipe (25) is arranged in the water reservoir. A blow-off line (17) is opened out with the discharge valve. The discharge valve is extended upwards in the water reservoir. A return spring (23) is provided in the discharge valve. The discharge valve is driven by level sensors (20,22) in the water reservoir. An independent claim is included for an anode circuit.
