<p>A modem for a cable TV system, comprising a power conversion unit, an output control and illegal connection detecting unit, an uplink control unit, an uplink transmitting unit, a mixer, a downlink receiving unit, a downlink control unit, and a data connection unit. The power conversion unit converts the input power into the power required by other units; the output control and illegal connection detecting unit is connected to the TV use terminal of a resident, can generate uplink information containing at least the status of illegal connections, and transmits the information to a computer in an ASK mode via the uplink control unit, the uplink transmitting unit, the mixer, and the data connection unit; the data connection unit can transmit the downlink information of the computer to the output control and illegal connection detecting unit in a FSK mode via the mixer, the downlink receiving unit, and the downlink control unit, thereby controlling the transmission of cable TV signals at the TV use terminal of a resident.</p> |
