PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a falling direction and a moving distance of a road sign tool.SOLUTION: In a state monitoring system of mounting sensor units in a biaxial prescribed direction and monitoring the state of displacement of a plurality of sign tools that are arrayed as prescribed, a monitoring device includes: first processing means of performing processing of issuing a command for monitoring the state of the plurality of sensor units and acquiring state information of the sensor units, and processing of acquiring acceleration information transmitted from the sensor unit in which an acceleration sensor has detected the displacement of abnormal acceleration; and second processing means of preparing a display pattern corresponding to the magnitude of biaxial acceleration from the acquired acceleration information, determining the direction of display of the display pattern according to the direction of the biaxial acceleration recognized from the acceleration information, and preparing the display pattern. Corresponding to the ID of the sensor unit in which the displacement of the abnormal acceleration has been detected, the display pattern prepared by the second processing means is displayed on a screen of a display device.
