PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discomfort reduction display device and a method for controlling the display thereof capable of appropriately eliminating the discomfort of a display unit.SOLUTION: A display device 100 includes: a display section 160; an own vehicle rotational component acquisition section 120 that acquires a rotational component generated at a vehicle body as an inclination of the vehicle body; a virtual display position determination section 140 that three dimensionally corrects the rotation of an image on the basis of the acquired inclination of the vehicle body and determines a position and an inclination for displaying the corrected rotating image to obtain a spatially fixed surface in the display section 160; and a projection display section 150 that projects and displays the determined image of a position and an inclination on the display section 160.
