PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent having characteristics surpassing a liquid crystal aligning agent containing a partially imidized polymer of polyamic acid while omitting an imidation step of polymer and a solvent substitution step following thereto.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal aligning agent contains polyamic acid obtained by reaction of tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride including a compound represented by the following formula (1) with diamine, where in the formula (1), Yand Yare a divalent organic group independently, Zand Zare a trivalent organic group independently, Q is a tetravalent organic group, and n1 and n2 are 0 or 1 independently. |
