PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity in printing a read document to provide stable printing performance.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a document reading unit 100 that reads front and rear surfaces of a document G; an image forming unit that forms information read by the document reading unit 100 into an image on a recording material S; a double side conveyance path 80 that selectively conveys the recording material S and the document G; and a control unit 800 that controls a reading position of the document reading unit 100 when only the document G is conveyed. The document reading unit 100 reads the rear surface of the document G at a first position where the document reading unit 100 faces a document dedicated conveyance path 81, and reads the front surface of the document at a second position where the document reading unit 100 faces the double side conveyance path 80; and the control unit 800 controls the document reading unit 100 to read the document at the first position or the second position on the basis of reading conditions of the document reading unit 100 and image forming conditions of the image forming unit. |
