The method involves arranging a piston along a piston axis in cylinder liner in axial direction in back and forth movable manner. The lubricant is conveyed to a lubricant opening by a conveyor unit. The lubricant opening is so formed and arranged that the lubricant is introduced in the cylinder liner. The lubricant is generated by mixing a lubricant with a carrier fluid before introducing in the cylinder liner. The lubricating oil or solid lubricant is used as the lubricant and water is used as the carrier fluid. An independent claim is included for a cylinder lubricating unit for a piston-cylinder unit of a reciprocating piston combustion engine, particularly a two-stroke diesel engine. |
