The method (24) involves transmitting a request to connect to a remote server (OTA) (14) from a local server to a terminal (ME), where the request has an internet protocol (IP) address (IPb) of the terminal, and an identifier (ICCID) and a communication port number of the local server. The address, identifier and the number are transmitted from the local server to the remote server (15). The identifier and the address are combined at the remote server such that the remote server ascertains the IP address in a telecommunication network (LTE) to which the remote server links the local server.
