PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of suppressing excessive voltage, an image reading device, an image forming apparatus, and an image reading method.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: a plurality of light-receiving units that perform photo-electric conversion of a plurality of pixels for each color; a plurality of output units that convert electric charge of each pixel that is photo-electric converted by the light-receiving units for each color into voltage, and sequentially outputs the voltage; a switching unit that switches signal paths so that the plurality of output units alternately perform output of voltage according to a switching signal input from the outside; and a potential application unit that applies offset potential to the voltage output from the output units through the lapse of a predetermined time from the switching of the signal paths by the switching unit. |
