PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine for reducing stress applied to a rotor bar and an end ring by suppressing thermal expansion of the end ring because current density of current flowing on the surface of the end ring becomes large to increase heating power of the end ring due to the smallness of the radial width of the end ring of a rotary electric machine, therefore increasing thermal expansion of the end ring to cause excessive stress to act on the rotor bar.SOLUTION: A gap is formed between a rotor core 22 and an end ring 24, and an inner circumferential part of the end ring 24 is configured to be made smaller than the inner diameter of the rotor core 22 to extend toward a shaft 25 beyond a shaft arm 26. Thus, heat generation by a striking current of the end ring 24 is suppressed to reduce stress acting on a rotor bar 23. |
